Reviews about Golden Moon Tea

I've been buying tea from Golden Moon Tea since 2005. I originally spotted them on Amazon and bought a few varieties including Golden Yunnan, which they don't seem to carry anymore. I then bought a batch via the Yahoo marketplace and it was still amazing quality tea. Finally, I had enough with middlemen and just went to their website. To my surprise, this meant that I began to receive amazing deals via regular mail and email. I just placed an order for 1 lb of Dragon Well and received 1 lb of Tippy Early Grey for free (plus free shipping and no tax). Their tea is rather pricey but if you can distinguish between good and amazing tea, then you should give them a try. I've been a satisfied customer for 10 years.

I would avoid this retailer since there are many others to choose from who take care of customers better. This is my story. A relative gifted me with a premium tea of the month club. It was great the first year, and I highly recommend that in fact. But the second year, even though the relative renewed the premium tea of the month club, for some reason I was slotted in the 'regular' tea of the month club. I emailed Golden Moon Tea three times without any response, including the owner Marcus Stout. The 'regular' tea was ok, but my relative paid the 'premium' price, and nobody ever responded to my queries. Maybe the company is growing too fast for its own good...at least it's growing too fast to respond to people shelling out serious money for premium tea. We're taking our business elsewhere this year. UPDATE: the company finally reached out to me and confirmed that the 'regular' tea of the month club was in fact the correct allocation, and not the 'premium' club. Their story was that somehow my emails (to three different persons) had each been directed to a spam folder. What is strange, however, is that I had emailed the company previously on other matters and never had a problem getting a response. Clearly the customer support leaves something to be desired. To sum up, perfectly good tea, but there are a lot of online purveyors out there these days, with better levels of customer support.
